In addition, we have several joint venture manufacturing operations overseas in China. We are currently recruiting for two qualified Quality Inspector based out of our Morton, Illinois location.

Job Title: Quality Inspector
Reports To: Sr. Quality Manager
Location: Morton, Illinois
Shift: First shift
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for executing the company’s quality processes such as inspections and part tests. Individual is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of quality results. The individual will interact with various department functions such as Quality, Engineering, Production and Planning to effectively communicate quality status.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, prepare and maintain inspection and test reports for review
  • Conduct tests and inspections of materials used in the manufacturing processes, conduct in-process quality inspections, will examine products to confirm quality and engineering requirements
  • Program CMM, Faro Arm, review and interpret drawings
  • Communicate quality compliance issues with urgency, report and document when defects are discovered, execute the company’s NCR /MRB process
  • Utilize measurements tools of inspection such as CMM, Faro Arm, Calipers, Micrometers, Comparators
  • Maintain calibration of Quality Control Equipment and traceability of equipment and materials
  • Support the company’s QEMS processes, assure hand tool calibrations are in compliance
  • Identify areas for quality control improvements and implement new methods accordingly
  • Conduct outgoing shipment dock audits
  • Update and maintain quality inspection records
  • Move product to assigned location, at times will have to physically move or lift products
  • Utilize company’s ERP system to enter receiving data, perform system transactions, handheld scanners, computers,
  • As required, will be responsible for single tasks, such as sorting, weighing, counting or verifying products, repackaging and other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENT

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in Quality Inspection functions with receiving and first article inspections, blueprint reading, GD&T required within a manufacturing setting (2 years min preferred)
  • 2 – 4 years’ experience with Quality Inspections, inspection tools and drawings required
  • Experience on an ERP system preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to remain on task in a fast paced, high volume environment
  • Proficient in Micro Soft Office, basic math skills required
  • Detail oriented and organized to ensure accuracy and quality, able to thrive in a team environment.
  • Ability to provide a high level of service to internal and external customers
  • Forklift, lift truck, stand up experience preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, skills
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative
  • Flexible schedule is required at start of employment
