In addition, we have several joint venture manufacturing operations overseas in China. We are currently recruiting for a position at our Morton, Illinois location for a qualified IT Support Specialist II.

Job Title: IT Support Specialist II
Reports To: IT Manager

SUMMARY
The IT Support Specialist position is based in Morton, IL, and is the primary point of contact for incoming calls and tickets for both onsite and remote users. This position is responsible for answering calls and managing tickets by thoroughly documenting details of course of action taken to investigate the problem and the final problem resolution. When not able to resolve any issue, the IT Support Specialist will escalate the ticket to the appropriate IT team member for further investigation. This relates to all technology, including workstations, servers, printers, networks, and vendor specific hardware and software. When not handling calls or ticketed issues, this position will help the IT team with system observations and tasks assigned by the manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answer and manage all IT support issues using company’s ticketing system
  • Analyze and Troubleshoot problems reported by users
  • Configure desktop, laptop, and telephony hardware. (New Users and Upgrades)
  • Installation and configuration of software (MS Office, Adobe, Etc.)
  • Assist users with drivers, personal settings, and printer configuration
  • Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems
  • Support manufacturing hardware and Enterprise Resource Planning systems
  • Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security
  • Assist user with new cell phone activation and upgrades
  • Support internal associates with all technology related issues
  • Work on special projects that have been assigned
  • Assist with coordination of third-party suppliers and vendors
  • Observe and maintain system efficiency
  • Make recommendations for future upgrades
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a technology related field, plus 24 months of experience of functional IT support and/or related IT infrastructure
  • Or if no degreed, 5 years of experience.
  • Customer service oriented with high sense of urgency
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of PC Hardware, Routing & Switching, VoIP Phones
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Office 365, Windows 10, VMWare, SQL
  • Must be a team player, detail-orientated, and flexible
  • Ability to handle the pressure of interruptions while working on multiple tasks
  • Self-starter and able to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to travel between locations
