Charge Air Coolers in automotive applications, are heat exchangers that remove waste heat downstream of a gas compressor, typically superchargers or turbochargers. Charge Air Coolers improve efficiency of the induction system by reducing induction air heat created by the supercharger or turbocharger, which in turn increases air density and promotes more efficient combustion.
