In addition, we have several joint venture manufacturing operations overseas in China. We are currently recruiting for a qualified Maintenance Technician position at our Morton, IL location.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Morton, IL
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt

SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician will aid in the day-to-day operation of keeping a manufacturing facility efficient and operational. This includes completion of basic repairs, cleaning, and maintenance of production/facility equipment. The Maintenance Technician will also complete projects in all other trades (i.e. plumbing, electrical, painting), and work as it relates to the entire facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on all production and tooling machines, including support equipment, conforming to internal requirements and manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Complete daily work orders as assigned. Work Orders will include repair and maintenance assignments as listed above.
  • Ensure all maintenance and repair activities are recorded, organized, and complete. Records must be readily available for referencing or auditing purposes.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance program, which includes PM on facility equipment and production equipment.
  • Develop and maintain a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools.
  • Recommend purchase of necessary maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies as required to streamline processes and increase efficiency.
  • Maintain open communications with other departments; develop and maintain effective internal relationships so as to control procedures and coordinate operations.
  • May occasionally be required to use company vehicle to pick up supplies or make deliveries.
  • Observe all safety precautions for self and others

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Technical School is a plus
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the maintenance and/or operation of a process manufacturing facility
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to teach problem solving techniques such as 5why Root Cause
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment and the Automotive Industry/Automated Facility a plus
  • Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer interface skills
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative
  • Able to support, lead and facilitate cross functional teams
  • Experience in HMI’s, HVAC, and Servo Drives would be desirable but not required
  • Knowledge of 480 3 phase industrial circuits.
  • Flexible schedule is required at start of employment
