Job Title: Material Handler
Reports To: Operations Manager
Location: Morton, IL
Shift: First shift
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt

SUMMARY
The material handler will work with the materials department and shipping and receiving to manage the flow of materials throughout building.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following, other duties may be assigned. Responsible for performing the physical tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing of products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Pulls and fills orders, lifts heavy/light weight items. May use (But not limited to) power equipment such as a forklift, hand tools, and other devices operated in a warehouse environment. Examines stock and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Must have at least one year training and experience to insure necessary knowledge of machinery, machine tools, company product and department routines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent

PHYSICAL DEMAND
Requires good manual dexterity with both hands, stooping, bending, standing wrist motion, elbow bending and flexing. Requires minimum push/pull/lifting up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the day. Exposure to; solvents, paints, cleaning agents, oil dust, fumes, noise etc.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
